Music is a fundamental part of Bonics’ genetic composition, and it is intrinsic to the local culture of Philadelphia, the city in which he was raised. When he was growing up there in the 80’s and 90’s, the music scene was fuelled by local radio.

DJ Bonics is a Philadelphia native who found himself in Pittsburgh as a student at Pitt. From there he learned the art of DJing which he may not of known then but would be the basis of extraordinary career in front of him. Not only did he become one of the most notable DJs in the city, his résumé also includes concert promotions for Clear Channel (Live Nation), night host then later afternoon host and music director for Pittsburgh’s 96.1 KISS. Having been seen on all major platforms in Pittsburgh ( including Jay-Z’s Blue Print III tour (local), Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour (local), Pittsburgh Steelers’ home games and The Pittsburgh Penguins playoffs) he took a chance by dropping it all to tour with underground rapper sensation, Wiz Khalifa. In 2010, Wiz Khalifa exploded on the scene with his hit Black and Yellow and DJ Bonics was right behind him providing his sounds. Bonics has toured a good chunk of the world, Over 20 different countries. performed on Letterman, Kimmel, MTV, BET,

Fuse Network and has been on some big stages including Hot 97’s Summer Jam, Coachella, Bonnaroo, Wireless Festival and also made it as a US finalist in Red Bull’s 3 Style DJ Competition in 2010. With almost 5 million views on YouTube and over 40,000 followers on Twitter, DJ Bonics has now found a home at home on Philly’s Wired 96.5’s New Night Show: Hooked on Bonics.
