The track and its corresponding video have been accused of sexism, and was even called a “rape song” by one feminist writer.Sitting down with Krishnan Guru-Murthy for UK’s Channel 4 News, Pharrell responded to the “Blurred Lines” backlash like the graceful pro that he is. Using a car salesman analogy and a high fashion magazine comparison, Skateboard P defended the song as a pure and shameless expression of love for the female race, because that’s exactly what it is.
