General Contest Rules
1. Eligibility: Open to any resident of the greater
2. Entries: Written: All contest entries become the property of WPOW. Submitted entries cannot be returned. WPOW is not responsible for entries lost, stolen or misdirected after they are mailed or deposited in registration boxes, or for illegible, incomplete or damaged entries or postage due mail. Electronic/Telephone: WPOW is not responsible for callers lost or disconnected before completing his or her prize claim. When a caller is lost or disconnected prior to broadcast, WPOW may select the next eligible caller received to win/participate. WPOW is not responsible for any lost connections, miscommunications, failed computer or telephone transmissions, equipment or other technical failure or service interruptions. WPOW is not responsible for improperly addressed or misdirected E-mail entries. The station is not responsible for any carrier or server delays or failures. Each entry has an equal chance to win.
3. Prize Delivery: Unless otherwise noted, prizes are available for pick up at the WPOW studios. Certificates for prizes may be mailed upon request at WPOW\'s discretion. WPOW is not responsible for any prizes lost or stolen after mailing or for certificates lost or stolen after the winner has claimed them from the station. Bulky or irreplaceable prizes have to be picked up at the studios. Winners must be prepared to show identification and complete a Prize Release form to receive a prize. WPOW reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value should a prize become unavailable. Prizes are non-transferable. No cash or prize substitution will be offered should the winner be unable to accept a prize.
4. Prize Deadlines: Winners have thirty days in which to claim a prize. Any prize not claimed within the allotted time will become the property of WPOW and no substitute prize will be offered. Concert or event tickets must be claimed by 5:00 p.m. of performance or event day or they become the property of WPOW. If the event is on a weekend or holiday, the tickets must be claimed by 5:00 p.m. of the last business day preceding the event. WPOW offices are closed on major holidays and hours may be affected by weather conditions.
5. Taxes and Liability: Unless otherwise noted winners are responsible for any and all taxes which may be due or which may become due from accepting the prize. Contest winnings will be reported to the Internal Revenue Service and winners can expect to receive a 1099 tax form for prizes which total more than $600 for the year.
Prizes are awarded \'as is\' with no guarantees or warranties as to use. Acceptance of a prize releases WPOW, its sponsors and advertisers from all liability and claims concerning the prize, its delivery, and its use. A signed \'Prize Release\' acknowledging this release, acceptance of the prize \'as is\' and any tax liability may be required as a condition of the winner receiving the prize at WPOW\'s discretion.
6. Release: Winners grant WPOW and its contest sponsors the right to use his/her name, image, recorded voice and photograph to publicize the contest and the awarding of the prize, but not to advertise the sponsors and their services. By participating in a WPOW on-air contest, callers are presumed to grant the station permission the use of his/her name and recorded voice.
7.Additional Rules: Additional rules for individual contests will be available at the WPOW studios on the station website at www.power96.com and by mail upon request. WPOW reserves the right to end a contest and/or to amend rules as conditions warrant upon announcement on WPOW.
